Retired Asher Coach Receives Lifetime Achievement Award

  • Retired Asher Baseball Coach Murl Bowen was recently one of three honored at a Silo baseball game for being in the top 10 with the most wins nationwide. The other two were his nephews, Billy Jack Bowen and Randy Bowen. The elder Bowen had an all-time record of 2,115-349 from 1959 to 1998. Murl Bowen, of Asher, has led a life dedicated to baseball. He grew up playing baseball in Little League, high school and college. And he achieved great success in the 39 years he coached baseball at Asher High School.
