McLoud School Foundation Selects 25 Teachers As Grant Recipients

The McLoud School Foundation recently selected 25 teacher grants totaling $19,990.02 submitted by teachers in McLoud Public Schools. The grant recipients will now be able to purchase a variety of educational supplies. Twenty-seven teachers submitted teacher grant applications, for a total request of over $21,043.51.

Ten journalists, including one local, and two Lifetime Achievement honorees highlight Oklahoma Journalism Hall of Fame’s 54th anniversary class. Ten longtime journalists, a prominent First Amendment attorney and a Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient will be among those honored at the 54th annual luncheon and induction ceremony of the Oklahoma Journalism Hall of Fame.

Experience Mummy Day At the Mabee-Gerrer Museum

The Mabee-Gerrer Museum of Art is hosting its annual Mummy Day on Saturday, Nov. 4, from 11 am to 3 pm. The free, family- friendly event celebrates Oklahoma’s only mummies, including Tutu, which is on permanent display at the Museum.

Poetry For Motion: Earlsboro Teacher Donates Part of Proceeds from Book Sales To Athletic Department

Regina (Souders) McAfee has been writing poetry since she was very young, growing up in the Johnson Community. But it was a collaborative effort for McAfee’s first collection of poetry to become “Promises on Velvet Wings: Poems of Faith, Family, Friends and Fun.” In the summer of 2022, the idea of publication came to McAfee from a fellow guest speaker at the Evangelistic Center.

Hip-Hoppin’ Summer Fun At The Tecumseh Public Library

The Tecumseh Public Library is hip-hopping with fun these past summer weeks. As part of its Summer Learning Challenge, the library hosted a hip-hop dance class on Wednesday, June 28. Jesus Martinez, an instructor at RACE Dance Collective, came to teach the teens how to breakdance. He has been dancing since he was also just a kid but has been professionally dancing for over 10 years.

2023 Earlsboro Alumni Reunion Held In Wes Jeske Auditorium

The annual Earlsboro Alumni Reunion was held Saturday, June 10, 2023 in the Wes Jeske Auditorium. Earlsboro Days sponsored by the Town of Earlsboro was held the same day. There was a car show, food, crafts, and music on Main Street. The school buildings were open for Alumni to walk thru and see changes happening at the school.
