The Bethel Wildcats claimed the regional championship title March 1.

The Wildcats faced off versus Hugo at Atoka for their opening match of regionals and won by a 19-point margin, 55-36.

The solid win over Hugo set them up for their Monday matchup against Kingston in the regional final, played at Prague.

Bethel’s victory against Kingston was by a much narrower margin, winning 51-48.

Bethel’s #12, John Gordon, led the Wildcats on the scoreboards, netting 13 points, followed by #34, Bronc Robbins, with 12, and DJ Whitten (#21) with 11.

Bray Bussell scored 6, RJ Morris scored 5, and Jace Stewart and Garren Sheppard brought in 2 points each for the win.

Kingston’s #23, Brady Brister, was the game’s overall top scorer, landing 20 points, but was the only Kingston player to score in the double digits during the match.

The Wildcats’ win sets them up to head into the Area Tournament this week with a 16-8 season record.
