Dale Holds First Annual Alumni Softball Game

It was cold and windy for March 18, but that didn’t keep about 35 Dale softball alumni from getting together to play again. The First Annual Dale High School Alumni Slowpitch Softball Game began with a hotdog and hamburger “Meet and Greet,” followed by the Homerun Derby and the game itself, according to the Dale Pirate Update Facebook Page.
Dale’s Ava Bell is fouled by two Howe defenders as she goes to the hoop in the fourth quarter of the Class 2A State Championship on March 11 at the State Fairgrounds Arena. The Dale Lady Pirates won state, 48-23, and their record for the season is 31-2. Before this, the Lady Pirates won seven state basketball championships between 1978 and 2010, according to the OSSAA website. Countywide & Sun/Natasha Dunagan

The 2022-2023 basketball season turned out to be a historic one for Dale as both the Pirates and Lady Pirates Basketball squads earned a place in the distinguished Dale High School Athletic Chronicles.

The Dale Pirates Fall Baseball Team and their coaches, Eddie Jeffcoat and Josh Forsythe, were presented with State Championship rings during halftime of the Lady Pirates basketball game on Jan. 3, after becoming the Class A state champions in Oct. 2022. Those on the team are Hunter Watkins, Zath Carter, Jett Higdon, Elijah Milette, Casen Richardson, Denton Forsythe, Cade Dickinson, Alex Leaver, Logan Hurst, Riglee Sheppard, Easton Edmonson, Tate Rector, Kam Wilson, Dayton Forsythe, Ethan Andonian, Kash Vanbrunt, Jake Green, Dylan Wilson, Dason Sheppard, JB Leaver, Andrew Collins, Ethan Douglas, Brandt Goodnight, Fayv Woodward and Jack Rooker.
